BombardierBombardier, the little snowmobile company that grew. Founded in 1942, Bombardier was essentially a company that made machines to move people in snow-bound Quebec. The company grew by diversification in the face of change. After acquiring the money losing Canadair in 1986, they acquired Short Brothers in 1989, Learjet in 1990 and de Havilland Canada from Boeing in 1992. Bombardier aircraft include the Dash 8 and the CRJ100/200/440/700/900/1000 regional jetliners. It also builds successful bizjets such as the Global Express and the Challenger business jet. They also produce Lear bizjets under their subsidiary Learjet. |
